Flirty Hat

This hat was so much fun to make! The pattern is super simple, but it's the yarn I used that made it special.

I used this yarn called Flirt, made by Plymouth Yarn, in a bright red color, on size 8 straight needles. Here's how you make the hat:

Cast on 84 stitches
Knit in stockinette stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) for about 8 inches, end on a purl row

Shaping the Top:
Row 1: *K5, k2tog, rep from * to end. You should have 72 stitches.
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: *K4, k2tog, rep from * to end. You should have 60 stitches.
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: *K3, k2tog, rep from * to end. You should have 48 stitches.
Row 6: Purl
Row 7: *K2, k2tog, rep from * to end. You should have 36 stitches.
Row 8: Purl
Row 9: *K1, k2tog, rep from * to end. You should have 24 stitches.
Row 10: Purl
Row 11: k2tog all the way across. You should have 12 stitches.

Cut off a tail of about 2-3 feet, thread it onto your yarn needle, and transfer the stitches from your knitting needle onto your yarn needle. Pull tight, then sew up the side of the hat.
