These were some other fingerless gloves that I made for another one of my friends for Christmas, but I never had time to post them!
Using size 8 needles, cast on 30 stitches.
Knit 3 rows of stockinette.
Row 1: K1, p1 all the way across.
Row 2: Purl.
Keep on repeating that until it is the desired length. Then knit 3 rows of stockinette at the top. Bind off and sew up the side, but leave a hole for your fingers!
